Anyone for #tigerblood?

If you’re a regular Twitter user, you may have seen the tag #tigerblood trending. This is thanks to new user Charlie Sheen. The #tigerblood tag used by Sheen is a reference to a comment made by him that he has the blood of a tiger in his veins. It is his so-called tiger blood that makes him resistant to addiction. Ironically, this is the brand name of a pharmaceutical company producing steroids.

Charlie Sheen, a new appearance on the social networking site Twitter, and his followers have started bombarding Twitter with the terms #tigerblood, #charliesheen, #teamsheen and #winnning. The Two and a Half Men actor and his followers have all but taken over the site.

Sheen, who is the highest paid actor on TV, has been in the news recently regarding his outrageous behavior and interviews, which may have led to his “unemployed winner” state. The current season of the sitcom was cancelled, after an interview in which Sheen lashed out at the producers, CBS. CBS and Warner Brothers claim it was due to Sheen’s “statements, conduct and condition”.  The actor is known for his drug and alcohol binges, and went into rehab in past weeks.

However, despite his recent loss of work, Charlie Sheen is still garnering support. Sheen had 150 000 followers before even sending his first tweet.  His follower count skyrocketed to within an hour of his first tweet, and within 24 hours he had acquired a million followers.
